Swing from 2003-2004

John McDonald was the Conservative candidate at the 2004 By-Election in Ward 11.

"It was a great privilidge to have been the Conservative candidate in this by-election. The result was a slap in the face to the Labour council, given the fact that the people in Milton particularly, made their feelings clear over the closure of their village primary school."

"The Conservatives have done a lot of work in the ward during the by-election and we will continue to work hard to ensure that we elect Conservative Councillors to West Dunbartonshire council at the next elections in 2007."
