Jackson Carlaw
Scottish Conservative MSP for the West of Scotland
Jackson Carlaw is aged 45, was brought up in Newton Mearnes and lived in Crookfur and Giffnock. He is married to Wyne and has two sons aged
13 and 10.
He worked for 25 years in the Scotish motor industry as a
major south side business. He joined the East renfrewhire Tories in
1978, fought his first Westminster by-election in 1982 and the 1983
election. He was Chairman of the Scottish Young Conservatives from 1984
to 1986, Chairman of Eastwood Conservatives from 1988 to 1992, and was
Deputy Chairman of the Scottish Conservatives from 1992 to 1998.
He is a Governor of Hutchesons' Grammar School and a Trustee of the Glasgow Educational and Marshall Trust. He enjoys theatre, cinema, music, reading and spending time with his children.
