Right to Buy
Conservative Westminster candidate for West Dunbartonshire, Martyn McIntyre, has described as "shameful" moves by the SNP Scottish Government to scrap the hugely successful "Right to Buy" policy.
Martyn said, "Over a million Scots, including thousands across West Dunbartonshire, got their first foot on the housing ladder thanks to the Conservative policy of "right to buy".
"Almost half a million homes have been bought thanks to a policy which has done more to make housing affordable for working people in Scotland than any other policy before or since. The new Housing (Scotland) Bill proposed by the SNP Government at Holyrood will take away this right."
"I think it is shameful that the SNP is ditching such a successful and popular policy, which has seen tenants become proud home owners."
"The Scottish Conservatives have made clear that we will vigorously oppose this SNP policy in the Scottish Parliament and will fight to protect the rights and aspirations of working people who are being deserted by Labour and the SNP."
