Leaked Audit Scotland Report
Commenting on recent reports that a leaked Audit Scotland report will heavily criticise Labour-run West Dunbartonshire Council, local Conservative spokesman, Martyn McIntyre, said,
"It has been reported that Audit Scotland will heavily criticise the Labour-run Council in its latest report. This will not come as news to local people as they have put up with this situation for too long. People will ask, is the Labour-run council simply not up to the job?"
"Not only is the Council leadership apparently being criticised for poor management and a lack of political leadership, but more worryingly, reports of fraud, staff bullying and intimidation are also being
investigated."
"With local elections next May, the people of West Dunbartonshire will have an opportunity to get rid of this inefficient and wasteful council leadership and elect some councillors that will be accountable and put
the interests of local people first. Labour's time is running out."
Brian Pope, Conservative Scottish Parliamentary candidate for Dumbarton Constituency, added,
"We will wait for the final publication before declaring judgement but I am incensed that local Labour MSP Jackie Baillie is reported to have
said that the council leadership is 'effectively non-existent'. Jackie Baillie MSP, council leader Andy White, John McFall MP and Denis Agnew are all part of the same Labour team."
"If the leaked report is true and there is bullying, mismanagement and poor leadership at West Dunbartonshire Council then I will expect Jackie
Baillie MSP to accept responsibility for Labour Party actions in Dumbarton and stop blaming others. It is simply unbelievable that she was not aware of the situation at the Council during the last few
years."
