Tories Double Vote in Dumbarton West by-election

Local Conservatives have expressed quiet satisfaction with their result in the Dumbarton West by-election.

Local Conservative Chairman, Martyn McIntyre, who fought the ward for the party said, "I am delighted that I managed to double the Conservative vote from the by-election last March. Dumbarton West is not strong Conservative territory, but local people have sent a message to the Labour controlled
council that they are unhappy with the dictatorial way they are running local affairs and that a more conciliatory approach is needed. I congratulate Iain Robertson on his victory and I hope he can work with local people to re-build Dumbarton West ward which has been sadly neglected by Labour for too long."
